Birthday for a Princess

I know that I say this on every child's birthday, but it truly is hard to believe that 4 years have gone by since Kiara Marie entered our world (and turned it upside down!).  She is a handful for sure, but we love her so much and feel so blessed to have her in our family.  She had been counting down the days til her birthday for the last 10 days or so and the last couple of days she would immediately ask when she woke up "How many more days, mommy?"!  The morning of her birthday I heard the patter of her feet coming down the hall and she comes to my side of the bed, gets right by my face and tells me "Happy Birthday to ME, Mommy!"  About every 30 seconds after that she would ask if she could open presents!  We talked to Daddy and decided we could open up the presents that arrived from Pennsylvania!  So, in her jammies and party hat, the opening began!

A box full of goodies, including some for the rest of us from Grandma and Paw-Paw!  Orange sandals, adorable outfits, some jewelry, and even a jacket that was left in Pennsylvania over Spring Break! 

After opening presents Kiara had the breakfast of princesses...Grandma had sent some cream-filled Tasty Cakes from PA...so she dug in (to the frosting at least) and showed me how many fingers she is now!

It is always the birthday person's choice of where we eat for their birthday...after a little gentle nudging, she chose Pizza Hut (over her 1st choice of McDonald's!).  So off we went, along with Grandpa and Grandma to eat some pizza to celebrate.  She was so excited and wound up that I couldn't get her to sit still and smile, instead I got Miss Bug-Eyes over and over!  Daddy got into the party spirit and briefly wore a party hat!

After our meal was over, they had heard us talking about her birthday, so they baked us some chocolate chip cookies (with a candle) and came and sang to her.  She LOVED this!

Back to our house to open up presents and eat some cake and ice cream...of course, presents came first.  She couldn't hardly stand seeing wrapped packages sitting there waiting on her to open!

She has been telling us for over a year that she wants a pink scooter so she can be like the boys...she finally got it!  She wanted it put together, RIGHT NOW!

She got LOTS of dresses and some cute flip flops too!

She also got her first bike with training wheels.  Daddy's comment was that there was too much pink for this birthday!

After she opened presents, she opened a few cards that she had gotten.  One was from her uncle, aunt and cousins in PA...it had a gift card in it.  As she pulled it out, she held it above her head and said "Yes! A debit card!  I love it!"  Oh my...she's all girl!  Here she is trying out her scooter and bike after they got put together.  There's a cute basket on the front of the bike that her baby doll "Suzy Q" is riding in.

On to cake and ice cream! I love this picture of Kiara and Phil...she was so proud to have that 4 on the cake and hear us sing to her.

I love that she went a bit cross-eyed blowing out her candle!

Our little girl is 4!  So hard to believe! Like I said before, she keeps us on our toes and is beyond naughty at times, but the rest of the times she is such a sweetie and goes with the flow being the youngest!  We love you so much Kiara Marie!
